What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is a 24-hour event, where a team of four students build a software or hardware project, referred to as a ‘hack’. Themes and challenges guide teams toward an idea, and using cutting-edge technologies such as IoT or AI students bring them to life.

Any student 18 years or older can attend! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced developer, UdeMHacks welcomes all skill levels.

How much does it cost?

UdeMHacks is completely free! We'll provide meals, snacks, swag, and prizes throughout the event.

What should I bring?

Bring your laptop, chargers, student ID, and any hardware you want to hack with. Don't forget a sleeping bag if you plan to rest!

Do I need a team?

You can come with a team of up to 4 people, or join solo and find teammates at the event. We'll have team formation activities!

What can I build?

Anything! Web apps, mobile apps, hardware projects, games, or whatever you can dream up. We'll announce themes and challenges at the opening ceremony.

Will there be mentors?

Yes! Industry professionals and experienced developers will be available throughout the event to help you with your projects.

What if I've never been to a hackathon before?
